Permanent control

Permanent control at Societe Generale is based upon:
  • permanent supervision, which is the responsibility of operational staff and their managers, and the coordination of which is performed by the Operational Risk Department of the Risk Division. The permanent supervision system itself is supplemented by numerous other operational controls (for example, automated controls in IT processing chains, organisational controls implementing the separation of functions within the organisation, etc.);
  • level 2 controls performed by departments specialising in the prevention of major risk groups. The corporate divisions, with the support of the functions under their responsibility, contribute to the permanent control of the Group’s transactions;
  • governance specific to certain types of risks, carried out by dedicated Group-level committees enabling regular reviews to be carried at the appropriate managerial level.
