Equator Principles Governance
In addition to applying the Equator Principles (EP) to project financing, Société Générale actively contributes to the development and governance of the EP by taking part in different working groups and the EP Steering Committee. The working groups of which SG is a member deal with the issues of best practices, governance, the scope of the EP and stakeholder commitment (NGOs, rating agencies, export credit agencies, etc). In addition, the bank also takes part in ongoing discussions on climate change and human rights. Environmental considerations and sustainable development are long-term priorities that are becoming more and more important. Taking an active interest in the development of the Equator Principles enables Société Générale to stay abreast of the discussions that will necessarily impact the future of the banking industry.
