Priorities

Committed to constant progress, the division applies the Group’s CSR policy throughout its 4 businesses and entities, drawing on their inherent diversity and incorporating the E&S challenges that go hand-in-hand with its activities and the countries in which it is present.
Targeted initiatives and the sharing of best practices between its different entities, an increasing contribution towards the Group’s CSR indicators, the integration of environmental and social criteria at every level and the heightened awareness amongst its employees of the importance of sustainable development are all fundamental priorities for the division in making CSR a cornerstone of its operations and actions.

Highlights in 2010

In 2010, the division’s management set about identifying and defining the strategic priorities and challenges needed to improve the structure of its CSR policy and procedures and laying the groundwork for a coherent framework.
Today, the division’s strategy and its core themes are based on the 3 priorities of the Group’s own CSR policy as well as on the more transverse theme of sponsorship and communications:
  • the integration of E&S criteria: work on the principles of successful credit, adapt products and services to the technological progress and behavioural trends that dominate the automobile market and, more generally, pave the way for new business models that reconcile economic growth with the protection and preservation of the environment;
  • the dynamic and responsible management of employees: develop the notions of diversity and employee commitment, as well as the best fit between personal and professional life;
  • the application of the Group’s environmental policy, particularly its carbon neutrality programme (reduce – avoid – offset): encourage a sense of citizenship amongst employees by promoting eco-friendly actions and initiatives;
  • the implementation of a sponsorship and information policy: work alongside partner associations in making initiatives more efficient, transparent and consistent with the division’s values, communicate on policy and actions, and encourage and reward best CSR practices in-house.
Some of these initiatives are already well underway and, after careful planning, the aim is to progressively deploy all of these priorities throughout the relevant locations and sectors of activity.
Ongoing development of local CSR procedures and initiatives already in place within the division’s different entities
Both in France and abroad: support and development of green loans, partnerships with associations linked to the division’s sectors of activity, measures to reduce CO2 emissions, sponsorships and charity work, solidarity initiatives as part of the Group’s Citizenship Week, tutor and mentor programmes, notably via the Instituto Societe Generale in Brazil, etc.
