Highlights in 2010

Taking matters to heart
Having structured its activities (acquired the specific accreditation and built up the necessary expertise, etc.) to be able to provide financing solutions for photovoltaic panel systems, Societe Generale Equipment Finance France has signed partnerships with several major sector names and is one Societe Generale Group’s centres of expertise in photovoltaic power.
It has also signed a Europe-wide partnership with Philips Lighting for the financing of low-energy lighting.
Putting others first
Also present in Brazil, SGEF works alongside other entities in the country which are part of the Group’s Specialised Financial Services and Insurance business line in lending its support to the solidarity initiatives and mentoring programmes organised by the Instituto Societe Generale set up in 2007.
SGEF Holding contributes towards the Group’s commitment to the "Nos quartiers ont du talent" programme, sponsoring the mentoring of young people from underprivileged areas.
PEMA, SGEF’s German subsidiary which specializes in the leasing of trucks and lorries has lent the charity association "Cura Hominum" a 40 ton HGV free of charge for a renewable 1-year period to help the association with collecting and distributing used goods and equipment destined for Ukraine.
The vehicle was prepared by PEMA and personalised with a symbolic logo of four crossed hands.
A ceremony to hand over the keys was held on February 11, 2011 at the PEMA branch in Berlin.
Finally, over the second half of 2010, SGEF Holding took part in one of the first skills sponsorship partner programmes within the Group.
Protecting the environment
Each year, the largest SGCF entities take part in the collection of environmental indicators as well as in the Carbon Neutrality Programme which forms a cornerstone of Societe Generale Group’s environmental policy.
Other SGEF entities have introduced “quick win” initiatives or challenges designed to reduce or optimise energy and paper consumption and business travel.
