Societe Generale steps up its transport policy

Objective

  • Reduce the Group's ecological footprint with a more environmentally-friendly transport policy.

Priorities for 2011

  • Cut down on business travel.
  • Reduce and develop a clean vehicle park.
  • Heighten staff awareness of the value of car-sharing and other more ecological methods of transport.

Highlights in 2010

  • Rolling out of the ALD Sharing car-sharing scheme.
  • Launch of the Green IT programme to provide alternatives to business travel.
  • Setting of targets for the reduction of business travel (in km per occupant) per business line as part of the Carbon Plan.
  • Continuation of the New Car Policy in France.
