L'Arbre et la vie
In 2010, SGBS (Société Générale de Banque au Sénégal) will introduce new bona fide lending schemes for Senegalese companies looking to invest in the fight against pollution or efficient energy programmes. To heighten public awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting the environment, the bank has also purchased one thousand copies of the book, L’Arbre et la vie, to be distributed to the families of its 700 employees and to its customers at a book signing by its author.
The book is about the importance of protecting trees and their crucial role in our ecosystems, economy, culture and mindset.
"It is suitable for all reading levels, adults and children alike" says Bassirou Diagne, Deputy General Manager of SGBS.
A similar operation is planned for a second book by the author on the theme of water.
"The next step is to set in place more concrete initiatives. We are strongly committed to investing in sustainable development" says Bassirou Diagne.
